Healthcare, like many industries, utilizes a ratings-based system to designate quality among providers.  This 1-5 star ratings system is an attempt to easy qualify information for consumers; however, we know little about how it impacts their perceptions of quality and affordability.  This work will explore this gap in understanding and provide implications for policymakers, healthcare providers, and consumers.
