Kelli Frias, PhD
Kelli Frias is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Kogod School of Business at American University. She has a Ph.D. in Marketing with a minor in Law from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on business-to-business strategy relationships, price formats, and decision-making across institutional contexts. Her previous industry experience includes working as a labor relations corporate culture consultant for Fortune 500 firms as well as for state and city municipalities.
Deidre Popovich, PhD
Deidre Popovich is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. She earned a Ph.D. in Marketing from Emory University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on consumer psychology, including how decision contexts and information cues can influence consumer decision-making and self-control. Her research has appeared in journals such as the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Retailing, and Behavior Research Methods. Her previous industry experience includes working as a marketing research manager for a national nonprofit organization and as a strategy consultant for a top-ten healthcare consulting firm.
Shuo Yu, PhD
Shuo Yu is an Assistant Professor at Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Dr. Yu’s research focuses on data science with a special focus on mobile health analytics. He designs motion sensor-based deep learning frameworks for improved senior care. His work has been published or accepted in such journals as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, IEEE Intelligent Systems, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems, among others.
Madhu Viswanathan, PhD
Madhu Viswanathan is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Indian School of Business. He has a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota (Major: Marketing; Minor: Economics). His research focuses on switching behavior in business-to-business relationships and economic efficiency of decision-making.
Deziree Jackson is a MA student in Sociology Research and Practice. She currently works as a Research Assistant for Dr. Kelli Frias exploring healthcare affordability along the U.S.-Texas border. Her research interests include race and ethnicity, gender, and health disparities. Deziree will be joining the Sociology Department at Indiana University in the Fall of 2021.
Mikaela Trussell is a first year student in the counseling psychology doctoral program at Texas Tech University. Her research interests center around sexuality and sexual health, specifically sex education. With regard to clinical work, she is interested in providing psychotherapy services in an integrated health care setting, as she is passionate about improving access to healthcare.
Emilia Amaro earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from American University. Her area of focus is making mental health care equitable and accessible as well as the benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy. She is currently a research assistant studying cross border healthcare research. Being a dual citizen in the United States and Mexico and having used both healthcare systems offers a unique perspective and interest in the current cross border research.
Jordan Rodriguez is a third-year graduate student in the Experimental-Social Psychology Ph.D. program at Texas Tech University. She is interested in how beliefs in personal control interact with the external environment to influence the way we think and act in the world. Her research interests also include the relationships between consumer preferences, brand perceptions, and feelings of uncertainty.
Katherine Nau Stinton
Katherine Nau Stinton earned her MS in Marketing from American University and received her BA in English with a minor in Art from Washington College. She has used her expertise in photography, graphic design, and writing to create content in the nonprofit and retail industries. She also has experience building comprehensive visual identities for businesses. Katherine is interested in the intersection of the arts and marketing as well as utilizing her skillset to promote positive societal change.
Scott Schneider recently completed his MBA and Analytics Certificate at American University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Markets & Culture from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He has experience in database management, implementation, and evaluation. He has interests in culture and consumption patterns and well-being. Scott has been instrumental in developing the background for experiments associated with price and quality, reference pricing, and price anchoring in healthcare decision-making.
